Ruth Joan Bader was born on March 15, 1933, the daughter of Celia and Nathan Bader, in Brooklyn, New York. Nathan Bader was a furrier and came to the United States from Russia when he was 13. Her mother, Celia, was born in the United States and had a strong passion for reading, language and the love of books. Ruth Bader was one of two daughters; her older sister, Marilyn, died of meningitis and she was reared as an only child.

Trial For Largest Burglary In English Legal History


A gang senior criminals carried out the biggest burglary in English legal history when they stole goods worth £14 million from London's diamond district in april 2015. The thieves broke into a vault on Hatton Garden and emptied safety deposit boxes of jewels, precious metals and cash during an audacious heist over the Easter weekend. The heist was planned and carried out by four elderly men who were experienced thieves, all of whom have plead guilty. Four other men are being tried on suspicion of involvement.

The burglary occurred during a period in which both the Easter Bank Holiday and Passover coincided. The police first announced that the facility had been burgled on 7 April, and reports based on CCTV footage state that the attack on the facility commenced on 2 April. The theft is being investigated by the Flying Squad, a branch of the Specialist, Organised & Economic Crime Command within London's Metropolitan Police Service.
